Michael completed a Certificate in Food & Beverage, Diploma of Hotel Management at The Hotel School Sydney and a Master of Business Administration with Southern Cross University Graduate College of Management.

He was previously employed as General Manager, Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron after working at InterContinental Sydney in various leadership roles.

Post Graduate Studies

With a comprehensive range of research strengths including hotels, hospitality, tourism,events, leisure, policy, planning, marketing, human resource management, environmental issues and education. A higher degree by research requirescommitment and dedication.

Two entry points

  1. For students with a business degree Masters program consists of 12 units (5 core units + 7 elective units)
  2. For students with a degree in a non-business or without bachelor studies with hospitality field management experience the Master of consists of 16 courses(8 core courses + 8 elective courses)

Masters by Coursework

A masters by coursework is ideal if you hold a previous undergraduate qualification, or if you work in the field of tourism and hospitality at a managerial level. Your first degree does not necessarily have to be related to hotel, tourism or hospitality management.

Doctoral Studies

The average PhD candidature is 3 years (4 years maximum) of full-timestudy or part-time equivalent. Those successfully admitted into the programnormally possess Honours I or IIA for however applicants may also be admitted on the basis that their work experience and/or published or other written material together constitute the equivalence of Honours at the level required.
