Hayman Island Campus

The Hotel School Hayman Island is a one-of-a-kind campus on InterContinental Hayman Island Resort. Built on the principles of ‘real-world learning’, this is the only hotel school in the world where you can study, work and live on a 5-star resort.

Complete the Associate Degree of International Hotel & Tourism Management and graduate with two qualifications from two globally respected providers, renowned for their expertise in hospitality and hotel management education; The Associate Degree from Southern Cross University and the Diploma in International Hotel and Tourism Management from HTMi Switzerland.

Paid internships are completed on the resort, providing practical experience across various departments and industry experts at the resort contribute to the course's delivery through a guest speaker series. Flexibility also allows for coursework to be completed across our campuses in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane.

Living on Hayman Island

Nestled at the northernmost point of Australia’s 74 Whitsunday Islands, Hayman Island unlocks the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, one of the seven wonders of the world. Hayman Island is the closest Whitsunday Island to the outer reef, including Hear Reef and Whitehaven Beach.

Adventures and activities

Activities based out of Airlie Beach, the mainland’s hub port, include water tours to experience adventures around the Whitsunday Islands, with snorkelling and exploration through gateways into neighbouring islands.

Hayman Island enjoys a tropical climate where sunshine is a regular meteorological feature. Average temperatures:
22C – 24C Winter
30C - 32C Summer

Accommodation

Accommodation is available in the staff village on the island which also provides food and leisure activities. Accommodation does not form part of the study package.

Finding part time internship?

Paid employment is available on the resort and comprises the internship component of your degree with opportunities to work in several departments including Food and Beverage, Front Office, Housekeeping and Kitchens.

What is the cost of living in Hayman Island?

Food: $130 per week for 3 meals a day.

Getting to and from Airlie Beach is $15 each way (subject to change)
