Nestled at the northernmost point of Australia’s 74 Whitsunday Islands, Hayman Island unlocks the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, one of the seven wonders of the world. Hayman Island is the closest Whitsunday Island to the outer reef, including Hear Reef and Whitehaven Beach.
Activities based out of Airlie Beach, the mainland’s hub port, include water tours to experience adventures around the Whitsunday Islands, with snorkelling and exploration through gateways into neighbouring islands.
Hayman Island enjoys a tropical climate where sunshine is a regular meteorological feature. Average temperatures:
22C – 24C Winter
30C - 32C Summer
Accommodation is available in the staff village on the island which also provides food and leisure activities. $65 per week for a twin share. Accommodation does not form part of the study package.
Paid employment is available on the resort and comprises the internship component of your degree with opportunities to work in several departments including Food and Beverage, Front Office, Housekeeping and Kitchens.
Food: $105 per week for 3 meals a day. Accommodation: $65 per week
Getting to and from Airlie Beach is $10 per week (subject to change)
