International student Nadia, 23, made her way from Sri Lanka to Sydney and The Hotel School on a journey of serendipity. With creativity her passion, it wasn’t long before she turned to create food – always her first passion, Nadia loves being in the kitchen. She’s now focussed on creating experiences within hospitality management.
Nadia discovered her real passion the day she was working as a commis chef when, as fate struck, staff shortages in front of house took her out of the kitchen and onto the floor.
“I loved it – working with people, working with everyone. I am talkative and I love being around people. This is an industry where you really get to have fun!”
This fun front of house experience inspired Nadia to focus on management as her creative career option. The hospitality industry also offers the added bonus of being able to work with people from all around the world. This is already proving to be the case while she studies at The Hotel School which has a student body from all corners of the globe. Nadia loves meeting new people and learning more about her fellow students and their different cultural backgrounds as the SRC secretary.
She doesn’t know where her creative career will take her next, but she knows anything is possible with The Hotel School family behind her and the hospitality world truly at her feet. Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management can offer you a range of opportunities, read more.
