Welcome to The Hotel School! This page will help you take the first steps as a student working towards a global career in hospitality and tourism.

Where do I start?

Start by accepting your offer from Southern Cross University (SCU) by following these instructions:

Get access to ‘My Enrolment’

My Enrolment is an SCU web service. Your username and password are listed in your offer email.

Visit scu.edu.au/myenrolment

Check your personal details

Now you have logged into My Enrolment, ensure your personal details are accurate by going to the ‘Details’ tab.

If any details are incorrect please contact the Client Services team on 1800 005 687 or enquiry@scu.edu.au before proceeding.

Accept your offer

Within My Enrolment select ‘Offers’
Select ‘View’ to display the offer details
Choose ‘Accept’ at the bottom of the page

Congratulations! You have now been admitted into your course.

Essential university systems: My Enrolment, MySCU and SCU Email

As Southern Cross University students, The Hotel School students have several different system logins. Your offer email contains the information you need to login to My Enrolment. Your login and access details to other university systems will be provided in My Enrolment.

My Enrolment

My Enrolment is the web service that allows you to self-manage your studies, including grades, fees and more. You will need to login to My Enrolment using your student number and password listed on your offer email.

Access My Enrolment at scu.edu.au/myenrolment

MySCU

This is your portal to all University systems including your Blackboard Learning Sites, SCU Email, printing and Library Services, Student Services, Learning Support and much more.

Your learning sites are available one week before Session starts. Your username and password can be found in My Enrolment by clicking on ‘MySCU Details’.

SCU email

It is vital to check this daily as you will be given important information that affects your studies.

New students: your password is initially the same as your MySCU account and your login is your full email address.

Existing students: your email password is the same as your Active Directory password. This is the one you use to log in to SCU computer labs and for SCU wireless access.

Learning site

A Learning Site becomes available for every unit that you are enrolled into for the relevant study period. Learning sites are found within MySCU. This will occur approximately one week prior to the commencement of the study period. Your Learning Site is where your Lecturer will provide you with information regarding your studies including assessments, unit guides, readings list and more. Please note if you do not see your Learning Sites by the commencement of the study period you may not be enrolled correctly.

Orientation

Welcome to The Hotel School!

Orientation at The Hotel School is a time to welcome new faces into the student community and welcome back our returning students. It is a chance for you to familiarise yourself with your course requirements, university services – both academic and social – and take time to adjust to university life. There are also heaps of fun events on and off campus!

The Hotel School operates compulsory orientation and enrolment sessions for both domestic and international students during the week before the commencement of classes.

Our Student Services team will be in touch prior to your commencement to fill you in on all the dates and details of your orientation sessions.

What happens at Orientation?

You will have the opportunity to find out your timetable and also check that you know when your census date is.
It is also important to keep your contact details up-to-date, so check these are correct in My Enrolment too.
Check your SCU email daily for any pre-commencement information emails from your teaching staff or administrators.
Login to MySCU daily, just before teaching begins, your Learning Site will be available. Visit it daily.
Make sure you find the Unit Information Guide in your Learning Site - read it carefully.
Make sure you can find the Study Guide in your Learning Site - read the introduction
Read all unit announcements
Join any groups such as the SATHS (Student Association The Hotel School or Student Ambassadors)

Airport Services

Both Melbourne and Sydney Airports have dedicated airport welcome desks for international students and services run during the peak arrival periods. These serve as an orientation point for new arrivals.
