When I first started at The Hotel School Australia, I had just finished high school. Like many students, I was stepping into something completely new. New expectations, new friends, and a new way of learning. It was exciting, but it was also overwhelming.
What made the biggest difference for me was the support I received from the team at THSA. The welcoming environment, the guidance from lecturers, and the strong sense of community helped me adjust and grow in confidence. I didn’t just feel like another student in a lecture theatre — I felt supported.
That experience is exactly why I decided to apply to become a Student Ambassador.

Giving Back to Future Students
I remember attending career expos when I was in high school, unsure of what my future would look like and full of questions. Recently, I had the opportunity to attend the HSC Careers Expo in Sydney, this time representing THSA.
It was a full-circle moment.
Standing on the other side of the booth, speaking to prospective students, I realised how powerful it is to share your story. I was once in their position, asking the same questions. Now, I get to provide real insight into what studying at THSA is actually like.
Being a Student Ambassador allows me to continue the culture of support that helped me succeed. It’s about communication, teamwork, and helping others feel confident about their next step.
Balancing Study and Ambassador Life
Balancing my studies with ambassador responsibilities has strengthened my time management skills. I rely on careful planning. Mapping out classes, assessment deadlines, and ambassador commitments in my calendar to ensure I stay organised.
By managing my time effectively, I can give my full attention to both roles. In many ways, being an ambassador has made me a more disciplined and confident student.
Skills I’ve Gained Along the Way
Representing THSA at public events has helped me develop confidence, adaptability, and strong communication skills. Speaking to people from different backgrounds has challenged me to communicate clearly and professionally, while still being genuine.
These experiences are not only valuable for prospective students — they are shaping me for my future career in the industry.
A Message to Future Ambassadors
If you are considering applying to become a Student Ambassador, I would say, apply. Share your story. Be excited about the great people you will meet along the way.
Being a THSA ambassador means that I have the privilege of transforming my personal experiences into valuable assistance for many, allowing them to achieve their dreams too.
