Event Planners are responsible for creating and executing events from start to finish, including budgeting, venue selection, management and event coordination. If you have a creative flair – Event Designers are responsible for creating the overall look and feel of an event, including theme, decor, and ambiance.
Event Production
Whether you are holding a large or small event, there are a variety of elements that need to come together which offer a variety of roles to specialise in, including catering, food and beverage, audio and visual, ticketing and registration and operations. Event production professionals are responsible for creating the physical elements of an event.
Sales and Marketing
Sales and Marketing hold a crucial role within the Events industry as they are responsible for promoting an event, finding sponsors or partners to fund an event and maintain the online reputation through social media, creating and publishing content, public relations and tracking results to optimise the return on investment.
The key to your new career in Events
The Hotel School had launched their NEW Events major for the Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management. This course provides students with fundamental business and management courses alongside specialised Event Management courses including, Convention and Events, Event Operations Management, Festival & Special Events Planning and Convention and Exhibition Planning.
As part of the 3-year degree, students will complete a 6-month paid internship at an organisation of their choice where they can experience hand-on training within Australia or overseas.
