Compliance Information

At The Hotel School, we value the safety and well-being of all our students, especially those under the age of 18 who are joining us from international locations. Below, we outline important information to ensure a smooth transition and stay for applicants under 18 years old. 

All international under 18 applicants must have their letter of offer signed by a parent or guardian.

For unaccompanied under 18 international student visa holders who do not hold a 157N visa: 

  • Your parent or guardian must request, in writing, that The Hotel School accepts responsibility for your accommodation and welfare 
  • You are required to reside with The Hotel School’s approved accommodation provider, Homestay, until at least your 18th birthday, which will be arranged by The Hotel School prior to your arrival 
  • You are required to regularly meet with an appointed student advisor who will manage your welfare until your 18th birthday 
  • You will be issued with a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare form once these arrangements have been agreed, together with your eCoE (Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment) for the purposes of applying for a visa 
  • You will be provided with age specific information at pre-arrival, orientation and available during scheduled meetings including emergency contact details for an appointed staff member and how to seek assistance in relation to, or report an incident or allegation of, actual or alleged sexual, physical or other abuse. 
  • You will be subject to all Australian government, state and territory laws as apply to under 18 year old people and as stated in the SCU Welfare Arrangements of International Students Aged Under 18 Policy
