Meet Claire Futterleib, The Hotel School graduate, currently working as a Meetings and Events Coordinator at PARKROYAL Parramatta.
After graduating from The Hotel School in 2019, Claire has achieved remarkable accomplishments and made significant contributions to the events industry. She started her journey as a food and beverage attendant, and through her hard work and dedication, she is now the Meetings and Events Coordinator at PARKROYAL Parramatta. She continues striving to accomplish her dream of becoming an Events Manager in the near future.
The Hotel School alumna spends her day coordinating and liaising with clients on various aspects of events such as coordinating with external vendors, managing budgets and timelines, and overseeing the operations of each event to ensure a seamless experience for her clients.
“The Hotel School gave me valuable real-world information, helped me connect with like-minded individuals, and proved that my dream career is possible,” she said.
It sparked her passion for the events industry when she attended one of our industry leaders’ talks, where they highlighted that we should start from the very bottom and work our way up to the top and that we are only limited by the limits we set for ourselves. Whether it was through attending events or networking with other classmates, Claire made sure to continue learning and growing as a hospitality professional.
We asked Claire, “What advice would you give prospective students looking to start their education at The Hotel School?”
“The Hotel School provides valuable practical and theoretical skills needed to succeed in the industry. Moreover, work-integrated learning and internships are great stepping stones to get you to where you desire, making it a great foundation to jet-start into your dream career.”
